THA Council,
are: “Gutta”, “Short Fuze” & Blanco
All originally from the Bronx, NY. Relocated to Rockland County
NY at a very young age and attended Spring Valley High School.
Tha Council was formed in 1999 after the
members broke away from another group called Fort Knox. It was clear
that the sound and style of Gutta, Fuze and Blanco were compatible
but did not fit with the others they were working with at the time.
As a teenager, Gutta met Blanco and Fuze
through a mutual friend and the three eventually formed the group
now known as “Tha Council”. Tha Council officially became
a Hip Hop Group in 1999 when they signed with Big Roy of Onyx Management
Services who is now the CEO of HyDra Management Services.
After completion of the production schedule
for their first CD, The Bronx is Back, Gutta was incarcerated in
spite of the fact that the only evidence against him was circumstantial.
However, in spite of this unfortunate injustice, Tha Council’s
CD was released on schedule. The tracks were hot and the lyrics
were angry, typical of street underground rap.
Tha Council went on to release their second
project titled “Gutta’s Revenge”. This CD demonstrated
how Tha Council would even the score on CD. Gutta put an intro on
a track that was recorded via telephone while in a state penitentiary.
Tha Council are featured on the Mix Tape CD created for the book
“Dirty Game” by Essence Best Selling Award Winner, Shannon
Holmes. Tha Council are currently working on the release of their
3rd CD with some serious interest from the music industry.
With performances under their belt all over
the NYC Tri State area including, The China Club, The Copacabana,
The Latin Quarter, SOB’s Babalu’s, Mystique, Café
Lou’s, Don Hills Concert Hall, and The Apollo, Tha Council
are ready to take the industry by storm.
Their goal is to secure a distribution deal
which will allow them to record and showcase their lyrical skills
and eventually produce other artists for HyDra Management Services.
